How to use Split PDF

  1. Choose one PDF.
  2. Enter each desired output group, separated by semicolons.
  3. Download a ZIP containing the resulting PDFs.

Worked example

Create three chapter files

Enter 1-4; 5-12; 13-18 for an 18-page report.

Result: The ZIP contains three PDFs with 4, 8 and 6 pages.

  • Individual pages and inclusive ranges
  • Non-contiguous pages in one group
  • Repeated pages when explicitly selected

Not supported

Important limitations

  • Splitting by bookmark names
  • Password-protected PDFs
  • Automatic chapter detection

Operational limits

  • One PDF, up to 300 pages
  • Semicolons separate output files
  • Encrypted PDFs are not supported

Troubleshooting

Common problems

Only one output was created

Use semicolons—not commas—between separate output files.

A range is rejected

Use ascending, one-based ranges such as 4-9.

What does a comma do?

A comma combines selections in the same output PDF; a semicolon starts a new PDF.

Can ranges overlap?

Yes. A source page can appear in more than one output group.
